James is a visual artist and an urban storyteller, born 1992 in Nairobi, he lives and has worked from his
home studio in Nairobi city since 2015. Through paintings and sculptures, he explores
architectural and human forms as both subject and metaphor to capture the lived realities of
urban communities, resilience, fragility, and collective memory—while also reflecting on themes of society, politics and habitats, labor and social transformation. By reimagining the textures of grace and tensions of everyday life in the city, he aims to make silent conversations between people and the spaces they inhabit more visible.

My Collection

Through texture and tone, I reimagine the        rhythm of Nairobi — its bridges, birds, and borrowed moons as symbols — where stories of survival meet dreams of flight.

Why Collect My Work

Each piece I create tells a story that transcends the canvas — a story of people, spaces, and the silent poetry of city life.

My art is not only visual; it’s emotional, historical, and deeply rooted in Nairobi’s evolving identity. I seek to preserve the rhythm of everyday resilience, the architecture of hope, and the grace found in struggle.

Collecting my work means being part of a larger conversation about belonging, transformation, and memory in the modern urban world.
